Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Starring Tracy Letts and Amy Morton, to Play Broadway’s Booth Theatre

The upcoming revival of Edward Albee's Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, starring Tony-winning writer Tracy Letts and Tony nominee Amy Morton, has found a Broadway home at the Booth Theatre. Directed by Pam MacKinnon, the play will begin previews on September 27 and open on October 13, the 50th anniversary of the original production’s opening night.

After starring in the production at Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago and Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., Letts and Morton will reprise their respective roles as George and Martha, alongside Carrie Coon (Honey) and Madison Dirks (Nick).

Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? is the story of a verbally and physically abusive couple who invite a younger work colleague and his wife over for dinner. The play originally opened October 13, 1962 at the Billy Rose Theatre starring Uta Hagen and Arthur Hill. The production won four Tony Awards, including Best Play. Virginia Woolf was most recently revived on Broadway in 2005 in a production starring Kathleen Turner and Tony winner Bill Irwin.
